2010 Tony Award Nominations Wednesday, May 05, 2010

With the nominations announced yesterday by Jeff Daniels and Lea Michele, the 2010 Tony Awards are right around the corner!  Check out this year's nominees for BEST MUSICAL:

American Idiot - this production tells the exhilarating story of a new generation of young Americans as they struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world, borne along by Green Day's electrifying score.

Fela! - an electrifying and touching new Broadway musical that tells the true story of Fela Kuti, the legendary Nigerian musician, whose soulful and stirring Afrobeat rhythms ignited a generation.

Memphis - a thrilling theatrical event that combines Broadway splendor with the roots of rock, Memphis features an original story by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change) and a brand-new score with music by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan.

Million Dollar Quartet - captures the infectious spirit, freewheeling excitement, and thrilling sounds of a singular moment when four of the music industry's most extraordinary talents (Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley) came together for one of the most memorable nights in music history.

The nominees for BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL are Ragtime, A Little Night Music, La Cage aux Folles, and Finian's Rainbow.
