New classroom percussion resources! Friday, July 23, 2010

As the elementary/classroom music specialists at Stanton's Sheet Music have been reviewing the new publications for the 2010-11 school year and selecting products to feature on our Elementary General Music Clinic, we were pleased to find some great new classroom percussion resources!

Stomp, Boom, Blast 2
You loved the first book and now, to celebrate its fifth anniversary, we're excited to bring you the sequel! “Stomp, Boom, Blast 2: Creating More Music with Everyday Stuff” will get you and your students thinking outside the staff lines and making music with everything from boxes of pasta, to buckets, pails, and monkey wrenches. Teaching and performance suggestions accompany each piece. A CD with performance and accompaniment tracks, “effect” tracks, and reproducible scores accompanies the book.

Rhythm Read & Play for Christmas
Add a holiday touch to your rhythm reading with easy-to-follow, reproducible read and play parts to accompany familiar favorites! More advanced readers play from musical notation, and beginning readers follow instrument pictures. For added value, an ENHANCED CD is included with numerous learning and performing options: use the demonstration tracks when learning the parts, or the fully-orchestrated accompaniment tracks when you are ready to perform, and the PDFs of all parts for overhead projection! In addition, there are teaching objectives linked to the National Standards for each song. Perfect for classroom or stage, this festive collection of 10 songs will provide percussion fun throughout the holiday season.

For more information on these or other elementary resources, contact Stanton's today or attend our Elementary Clinic!
