Stanton's Top Choices for Young Band 2010-2011 Friday, September 10, 2010

Now that school has been back in session for a couple of weeks, your students have blown the dust off their horns and begun to regain their technique and endurance, and beginning band ’fittings’ are underway, it’s time to select teaching pieces and begin planning concerts (and hopefully find some good music, too).  You’ve probably already listened to a couple of new publisher promotions, and with so much music from so many pubishers finding the best music at the right level for your group can be a challenge.  Don’t fret…Stanton’s is happy to help!

We’ve just released our selections of Top Choices in new music for young concert band (grades 0.5-2.5).  Our concert band staff reviews every new concert band piece from every publisher each year so we can make quality recommendations, and help to save you time.  We consider everything from accessibility and educational content (music education as well as cross-curricular use) to festival use and whether or not your students and audience will enjoy the piece. The top 40 or so pieces receive in-house write-ups and make our young band promotion (check your mailbox in the next week or so!).  You can also review these titles, read our write-ups and listen to recordings in the Top Choices for Young Band section of our website.  Everything is included from grade 0.5-2.5 concert selections, pop tunes, marches, and Christmas arrangements!  This is just one more way that Stanton’s Sheet Music is your partner in music education.

Feel free to order online, by phone (1-800-426-8742), or by fax (614-224-5929), or stop by.
