Meet the Stanton’s Team – Kent W. Thursday, October 18, 2018

IMG_9338.jpgWe’ve written before on the Stanton’s blog about our knowledgeable staff. Now, we’d like to give you a chance to get to know our staff on a more personal level. We hope you will get to know the “real” us, and learn how we might better be of service to you!

Kent got his start in the music business in 1969 with Coyle Music Centers in Columbus, Ohio working for William “Ziggy” Coyle and Russell Hill. At the time, Coyle’s was one of the larger music industry operations in both Ohio and the United States. This business proved to be great introduction and training ground for Kent into the music business. He gained much knowledge of directors (band and orchestra) and schools in the state of Ohio. While at Coyle’s, he met James (Jim) Strouse, who would later become the owner of Stanton’s Sheet Music.

The fall of 1980 saw Kent hired by Mr. Strouse into the Band and Orchestra Department at Stanton’s. The department responsibilities have changed over the years to become the Instrumental Department covering all wind instruments, orchestral strings and percussion, from solos to all sizes of ensembles and types.

While there have been many changes in the music business, Kent’s basic philosophy has not changed: “Give the Stanton’s customer the best possible service, advice, and knowledge regardless of age, performing level, or experience.”
