Motown Opener arr. Tom Wallace, Medium Difficulty
This show celebrates the 60th anniversary of the birth of record label Motown, founded by Berry Gordy Jr. in 1959. The music produced by now legendary artist became known as the Motown Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence. The four arrangements in this show feature the best sections of eleven of the most famous and well-known Motown songs.

This arrangement is the opening number for the complete theme show and includes the best parts of five legendary hit songs from Motown artists: The Temptations, Martha & The Vandellas, The Supremes and The Four Tops – “Get Ready,” “Dancing in the Street,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” “Reach Out and I’ll Be There.”

This arrangement is the first of two production numbers for the complete theme show and includes hit songs from Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five. The famous and lyrical “I’LL BE THERE” begins the arrangement providing a warm and fuzzy change up following the energetic MOTOWN OPENER. The mood quickly changes to one of sheer excitement and familiarity as the band plays down the dance hits “I Want You Back” and “ABC.”

The second production number in the theme show MOTOWN is a medley of two of Stevie Wonder’s famous hit songs – “Sir Duke” and “Superstition.” The creative grooves and rhythms created by the prodigy are reinforced with keyboards and percussion providing a nice musical and interesting contrast to the show.

Motown Closer arr. Tom Wallace, Medium Difficulty
The conclusion of the Motown theme show is capped off by the elegant and soulful “Tracks Of My Tears” by legendary Smokey Robinson. A beautiful rendition of the melody is followed by a powerful and moving chorus – an appropriate ending for an impressive and entertaining show featuring some of the greatest pop music ever produced.

(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman (Pre-Opener) arr. Jay Dawson, Medium Difficulty
An abbreviated arrangement of this classic hit song serves as the introductory number and fanfare to the complete Theme Show “QUEEN OF SOUL” featuring four of the greatest hits by the legendary artist Aretha Franklin. An expanded version of the same song reappears to conclude the show.
