Great Is Thy Faithfulness arr. Anna Laura Page, 3-5 octaves, Level 3-
Anna Laura Page’s gentle and lush setting of this beloved hymn by William M. Runyan is sure to become a favorite of both your ringers and your congregation. The first verse sets the tune with flowing accompaniment before a key change passes the melody to the upper bass and lower treble bells. A return to the original key leads to a grand and glorious conclusion. An all-around solid choice for worship or concert use.

hymns and spiritual songs anna laura pageHymns and Spiritual Songs arr. Anna Laura Page, 3 octave reproducible collection with optional piano, Level 2/2+
This reproducible collection provides delightful arrangements of hymns and spirituals for 12 bells with optional keyboard accompaniment. The pieces may be played by six ringers using standard bell assignments. If some or all ringers wish to ring 4-in- hand, it may be played by as few as three ringers. Suggestions for various assignment options are included. Not only do these arrangements present opportunities for ringers to learn 4-in-hand ringing, it also offers satisfying music for services, schools and other events that may be played with fewer ringers.

I Love to Tell the Story arr. Ron Mallory, 3-5 octaves with optional 3-5 octave chimes, Level 2-
Bass bells and optional chimes are featured prominently in this accessible arrangement of the beloved gospel hymn. With an accompaniment alternating between flowing eighth-note arpeggios and sturdy quarter-note chords, this piece gives beginning-level choirs an opportunity to stretch themselves while allowing more advanced groups to focus on musical expression.

variations on softly and tenderly kurt meyerVariations on “Softly and Tenderly” arr. Kurt Meyer, 3-6 octaves with optional 3-5 octave chimes, Level 3
Alfred Handbell welcomes Kurt Meyer to our catalog with an accessible and lovely arrangement of a cherished hymn, suitable for Lent or general occasions.

There Is a Fountain arr. Lloyd Larson, 3-5 octaves with optional violin, Level 2+
In this setting of an old favorite hymn, the treble bells set the stage with their gentle ostinato. Soon, the melody enters in the tenor line and is joined by the basses to give a rich sound. God’s glory shines through the brilliant ‘all in’ section, and then the song peacefully ends, much as it began.

Very Soon I’ll Fly Away arr. Benjamin A. Tucker, 3-5 octaves with 3-4 octave chimes, Level 3
Ben Tucker combines the classic Andraé Crouch gospel song “Soon and Very Soon” with the familiar gospel hymn “I’ll Fly Away” to create a stunning arrangement that captures the spirit of both songs. Use it for worship or festival any time of year.

o love that will not let me go patricia hurlbuttO Love That Will Not Let Me Go arr. Patricia Hurlbutt, 3-5 octaves with optional 3 octave chimes, Level 2
This lovely arrangement of the hymntune ST. MARGARET is a joy both to play and to hear. An opening section of rising bell peals gives way to a flowing melody underscored with undulating eighth notes. The bass take over the melody on handchimes, accompanied by the echo technique on bells. A key change leads to a grand final verse, which slows and eases into a final, delicate chord.

Peal on LASST UNS ERFREUEN arr. Patricia Hurlbutt, 3-5 octaves, Level 1
This arrangement of the well-known hymn is both simple to ring and stunningly original. The treble bells set up a four-note peal while the lower treble and bass bells play the melody in octaves. A verse with full and harmonically-interesting chords follows before a final closing peal – interspersed with snippets of the melody – closes out the piece. A wonderful choice for any general worship service.

Screen-Shot-2018-04-30-at-5.37.43-PM-600x266recommended by Jen Sper and Lora Moore, School Choral Music Specialists

D Cappella is Disney Music Group’s new a cappella singing sensation! The group came together as a result of a nationwide search for the best vocal performing talent in a cappella and stage. Contemporary a cappella pioneer Deke Sharon is the group’s co-creator, music director, arranger, and album producer.

D Cappella arrangements are available exclusively via Stanton’s Digital Delivery. Scores are delivered immediately via email, so you can print or view on your tablet right away!

Part of Your World/A Whole New World arr. Deke Sharon, SSATBB a cappella
Deke Sharon pioneered the direction of the modern pop a cappella sound. Throughout his humble beginnings with the House Jacks to his work on “Pitch Perfect,” “The Sing-Off” and “In Transit,” this mashup of two ’90s-era Disney staples is masterful, intricate and optimistic to the point of perfection.

Friend Like Me (from Aladdin) arr. Deke Sharon, SSATBB a cappella
The much anticipated arrival of the a cappella group D Cappella is upon us. And the arrangements by Deke Sharon are awesome. With all the elements of contemporary a cappella choral writing along with a great Disney song, this is a song to close your concert and bring the house down.

How Far I’ll Go (from Moana) arr. Deke Sharon, SSATBB a cappella
What starts out sublimely as a honest and tender cover of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s titular “I want” song from the 2016 blockbuster “Moana,” quickly modulates into a reggae-infused island number. Subverting expectations with a toe-tapping, finger-snapping take on the source material is just what the doctor ordered!

From the Classroom to the Choral Ensemble 10 February, 2020

thunder drums roger emersonrecommended by Jen Sper and Lora Moore, School Choral and Classroom Music Specialists

Looking for ideas to help your students transition from the general music classroom to singing in a choral ensemble? These octavos feature interesting accompaniments with everything from hand drums, Orff instruments, woodwind accompaniments, and even street bucket drums! Here are our best recommendations for your beginning singers who are ready to sing choral music from unison into 2 independent parts!

Thunder Drums (Sounds of Nature) by Roger Emerson, 2-part with piano and bucket drums
Originating from the busking scene in cities across the nation in the 1980s, street “bucket” drumming has become inseparable from the modern-day music teacher catalog due to its reliance on found materials, overabundance of plastic and coolness factor. Paired here with choir, this arrangement seamlessly blends the two disciplines into a rock anthem with style!

Nanuma arr. Audrey Snyder, 3-part mixed with piano
Based on a folk song from Ghana, additional melodies and harmonies are added to make this a stylish, swing anthem. This is a happy song of welcome and will make a wonderful, upbeat opener to your concert.

sunset the river sleeps beneath the sky mary donnelly george l.o. stridSunset (The River Sleeps Beneath the Sky) by Mary Donnelly & George L.O. Strid, 2-part with piano and optional flute, glockenspiel & bass metallophone
With parts for Orff instruments (glockenspiel and bass metallophone) and flute, here is a beautiful and thoughtful setting of the Paul Laurence Dunbar poem. Unison voices anchor the beginning of the song followed by two-part part writing that allows for vocal independence. This is a wonderful vehicle for your students to discover dynamic contrasts, beautiful word painting and a chance to discover one of America’s earliest and most important African-American poets.

Program upcoming pops concerts with these new options for high school and middle school ensembles!

Reach Out I’ll Be There arr. Alan Billingsley, SATB with piano & optional combo
The Four Tops reached their place in history by defining the quintessential Detroit-based Motown sound of the 1960s. Considered the Tops “signature song”, give your choirs the chance to sing in this crowd-pleasing and groundbreaking musical style.

This Magic Moment arr. Mac Huff, SATB with piano & optional combo
First recorded by Ben E. King and the Drifters in 1960, this easy listening love song is here set in a doo wop style that harkens back to the 1950s with finger snaps, a doo wop bass line and a feature for a soloist who can really bring the style. The instrumental accompaniment for 2 trumpets, tenor and baritone saxophones, trombone and rhythm section is just as stylish as the vocals and together a scene with poodle skirts, bobby socks, duck tail hairstyles and all things cool from the period is set.

wake me up before you go-go kirby shawWake Me Up Before You Go-Go arr. Kirby Shaw, SATB with piano & optional combo
Who can forget this #1 hit by the British duo Wham! Kirby’s choral adaptation gets right in the groove of the finger-snapping piece of pop perfection. For even more fun, add the optional SoundPax or SoundTrax CD, 1980s costumes, and some show choir choreography. “Jitterbug!”

Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing arr. Roger Emerson, SSA with piano
This Discovery series edition of Stevie Wonder’s 1973 song packs all the joyful Latin energy you would want into an accessible arrangement that is super cool and fun to sing. Great for building skills and style, the voice-leading is well-crafted for your beginning and developing jazz/pop groups.

More Than a Feeling arr. Kirby Shaw, TTB with piano & optional combo
Named one of the top rock songs of all time and part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, this classic from the band Boston fits nicely in the voice. This arrangement is full of style and gives your singers the chance to explore pop/rock stylings while maintaining strong vocal technique.

alright okay you win roger emersonAlright, Okay, You Win arr. Roger Emerson, 2-part mixed with piano
Here is a swinging classic jazz song ideal for young singers. A call and response style so important in jazz and here offers your young singers the opportunity to experience it. Detailed performance notes are offered by the arranger. And, as always, the vocal ranges and musical elements required to successfully perform this have been carefully chosen to ensure success.

A Wonderful Day Like Today arr. Greg Gilpin, 2-part with piano & optional kazoos
The musical “The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd” gave us this bright two-beat number. It’s a perfect selection for young singers to perform a positive message, add some choreography and the best part…play some kazoos! A terrific opener for any general concert.

Risen Indeed! by Allen Pote, SATB with piano and optional brass quintet and timpani

The final section ultimately builds up to a restatement of the opening and ends with a big finish. Incorporate brass, handbells, percussion, and organ for a spectacular Easter morning!

The Great I AM! by Jay Rouse, SATB with piano and optional orchestra
