Plan Ahead! Wednesday, June 24, 2009

calendar_clipart2Music teachers may be enjoying some “down time” during the summer months, but here in the choral department at Stanton's, we're kicking it into high gear!  Publishers from all over the country send us “new issues” (advance copies of new titles) for the next fall starting as early as January so we're often listening to next year's Christmas music around March and April.  We've been spending many hours listening to recordings, sitting at the piano reading, and evaluating new literature for choirs of all ages and all levels of difficulty.

So that flyer you’ll get in your school mailbox this fall has a lot of time and thought behind it!  We look for new music the way YOU do, searching for teaching opportunities, age-appropriate texts, music for a variety of performance occasions, and pieces that will be enjoyed and appreciated by your singers and audience alike.

For those of you who like to plan ahead (like we do!), here are a few BRAND-NEW octavos (that perhaps you wouldn't find otherwise) that are sure to be successful on your fall choral concerts:

Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair
