Longing for the “Sounds of Silence” Tuesday, April 26, 2011

The past few days have been a little noisy around Stanton’s Sheet Music (or should we say “on top of Stanton’s”).  If we had to give a song analogy to the situation, it would be the Parliament Funkadelic’s “Tear the Roof off the Sucker,”  because that’s exactly what they are doing!

Stanton’s has contracted Pomonte roofing to install a new roof on the building, so the past couple of days have been noisy in the building as they tear off the old shingles and install the new roof.  Unfortunately, as musicians we’d like to hear them hammering in rhythm and keep a good solid beat, but for some reason they don’t understand! (So we’ve just gotten used to it as we tune it out and go about our daily business.) We’re excited that as soon as they finish their work, Stanton’s will have a new roof during the rainy spring weather.
