Returning from the NYSSMA convention Sunday, December 07, 2008

Last night, several members of the
Stanton’s Choral and Band department staff arrived back in town at about 3:00 a.m. Â in the morning. For the past three days,
Stanton’s has been exhibiting at the New York State School Music Association (
NYSSMA) convention, in Rochester, New York. The NYSSMA convention is a fantastic, well run, music educator association that we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of. The New York music teachers have a great sense of commitment to helping young people become young musicians and the NYSSMA convention is a reflection of that vision.  NYSSMA’s diverse topics for clinics, reading sessions, lecturers, concerts, and clinicians, show that they are committed to achieving a future for music education. For the next few days, we will try and post a few more articles about the NYSSMA convention and our thoughts on how the trip itself went.
