Columbus Symphony: Opening Night Wednesday, January 07, 2009

Stanton’s wants to give a brief shout-out to the Columbus Symphony and their upcoming program, “Opening Night.” We’re glad you guys are sticking around, and wish you a successful season.

The concert is going to include music from Bernstein’s, On the Town; Torke’s, Javelin; and Holst’s, Planets Suite - and just as a side note, we do have sheet music for some of the most famous and recognizable excerpts from the Planets (like the majestic theme from Jupiter) for those musicians out there. The concert even includes a guest appearance by Senator John Glenn and exquisite NASA photographs. I (the writer of this particular post) am extremely excited to be going to this concert.

Just as a reminder to those of you in the local Columbus area, tickets are still available including student “rush tickets.” If you’re a high school student, you can get tickets for $5 through the High Five Columbus program, and college students can get tickets with a student ID for just $10 at the ticket office on the fifth floor of the Ohio Theatre.  That’s right, $10 tickets for college students and $5 for high school students.
