Salute America: New Patriotic Titles for July 4th Parades Friday, May 31, 2013

Although Memorial Day has come and gone, Independence Day is right around the corner, and that means 4th of July parades!  If you’re tired of the same old patriotic arrangements in your library, Stanton’s band staff is happy to present a number of unique, new arrangements that are perfect if you’re looking for something different for this 4th.  Shop Stanton’s for all your patriotic sheet music needs!

America: The Beautiful Stars & Stripes
arranged by Tim Waters
In this stunning treatment of two of America’s most beloved patriotic songs, the theme from Stars and Stripes ripples through the woodwinds as the brass plays the majestic theme of America en route to a dynamic finish.

Fanfare on Battle Hymn of the Republic
arranged by Tim Waters
Tim Waters’ eloquent and powerful treatment of the Battle Hymn of the Republic is a perfect selection for any halftime show or patriotic parade.

A Patriotic Salute
arranged by Ralph Ford
A Patriotic Salute combines five well-known American melodies into a stirring arrangement that is perfect for your next parade, community event, or patriotic halftime show.  Includes The Battle Cry of Freedom; Columbia, Gem of the Ocean; America, the Beautiful; The Stars and Stripes Forever; and Battle Hymn of the Republic.

A Sousa Spectacular
arranged by Dallas Burke
This parade medley by Dallas Burke features some of John Philip Sousa’s most beloved themes including El Capitan, The Fairest of the Fair, The Thunderer, and The Stars and Stripes Forever.  His playable arrangement is perfect for introducing Sousa’s music to younger groups.

Stars and Stripes 1812 Overture
arranged by Shane Porter & Jeff Grant
Two of the ultimate patriotic finales are combined in this high-energy chart by Shane Porter and Jeff Grant.  Features, of course, The Stars and Stripes Forever and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Three Patriotic Parades for Developing Bands
arranged by Allen Gray
Allen Gray’s set of patriotic tunes is designed especially for young band students marching in their first parade with the low brass in unison and limited range (trumpets never go above a D).  Choose your favorite, or roll off and alternate all three.  Includes Battle Hymn of the Republic; America, the Beautiful; and America (My Country ‘Tis of Thee).

Our band staff also recommends adding these practical, perennial patriotic favorites to your library:

God Bless America, Irving Berlin/arr. Jay Bocook
Patriotic Parade Sequence, arr. Paul Lavender & Will Rapp
Patriotic Spectacular, arr. Steve Barnett
A Star-Spangled March, arr. Mike Story
Stars and Stripes Forever, John Philip Sousa/arr. Mike Story
