Sight Reading for Piano Monday, April 29, 2019

kjos-gp700-fSight reading is an important skill for any musician. The Sight Reading series in the Kjos Piano Repertoire Library, available for levels preparatory to four, builds from level to level to look ahead for key signatures and time signatures, how to count as accurately as possible the first time a piece is played, how to keep playing no matter the mistakes that are made, and how to follow the dynamic markings. The writers, Diane Hidy and Keith Snell, have been very careful to choose and organize the pieces for this series in a logical way to enhance the student’s ability to sight read well at increasing levels of difficulty. As they say, “You learn to sight read by doing it!”
