The Lord’s Supper by Matthew McConnell
Few elements in a church service can vary in length quite as much as the celebration of Holy Communion. Due to the number of people present during a given week’s service, the speed of the servers, last-minute changes to accommodate parishioners in need of assistance, and other unforeseen scenarios, all of the pieces in this volume are of extendable length – sections are clearly designated for possible repetition. Each piece is based on the melody of a familiar communion hymn. Titles include: “God of Creation,” “Behold the King,” “Bread of Heaven,” “Meditation on Break Thou the Bread of Life,” “Chorale on Bread of the World in Mercy Broken,” “Joyous Communion,” “Christ My Shepherd,” “Reflections on Draw Nigh and Take the Body of the Lord,” “Reflection on Now, My Tongue, the Mystery Telling,” “Reverence,” “Reflection on Shepherd of Souls, Refresh and Bless,” and “Not a Word (He Never Said a Mumbalin’ Word).”

Call to Remembrance arr. James Southbridge
Designed especially to enhance those moments of quiet, personal reflection afforded the worshipper during communion, call to prayer, moments of remembrance, or memorial services, these seventeen gentle settings, many based on familiar hymns, will be a useful addition to every organist’s library. Each composition is accurately timed with helpful registrations for all organs. Titles include: “God Leads Us Along,” “Contemplation on Gordon,” “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” “My Faith, It Is an Oaken Staff,” “Ah, Holy Jesus,” “Cleansing Fountain,” “Meditation on Land of Rest,” “Jesus Paid It All,” “Breathe on Me, Breath of God,” “I Need Thee Every Hour,” “Come, Holy Ghost, Our Hearts Inspire,” “Aria on Jewels,” “Meditation on Rustington,” “The Everlasting Arms,” “In Communion,” “Meditation on Brother James’ Air,” and “Precious Memories.”

Communion Hymns for Organ Volume 1 and Volume 2 arr. Edwin T. Childs
These two volumes contain the complete Holy Communion hymns from Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW). These settings are not too long, not too short, and not too hard (just right!) to be played either before or after the singing of the hymn. Volume 1 tunes include: Adoro te devote; Break Bread Together; Bryn Calfaria; Distress; Dove of Peace; Gott sei gelobet und gebenedeiet; Greensleeves; Holy Manna; Living God; O Jesu, an de dina; O Welt, ich muss dich lassen; Omni die; Picardy; Rendez a Dieu; Schmucke dich; Song 1; St. Columba; and Werde munter. Volume 2 tunes include: A va de; Argentine Santo; As the Grains; Bicentennial; Bread of Peace; Break Now the Bread; Buckhurst Run; Camrose; Canto a Borinquen; Come to the Table; Here Is Bread; Hungry Feast; I Am the Bread; Jesus, Feed Us; Midden in de dood; Now; Now We Remain; Nuestro Padre; One Bread, One Body; Stoneridge; Taste and See; Unidos en al fiesta; and Union Seminary.
