La Furia (The Fury) by Victor López, Grade 2
“La Furia (The Fury)” is an original composition by veteran arranger and composer Victor López. Well scored and energetic, this composition is certainly solid and effective for young ensembles. The fury is unleashed in forceful and enthusiastic musical statements from beginning to end. Constant rhythmic interaction with melodic lines intensifies throughout and engages everyone in a powerful way. Relevant motifs create the necessary intensity throughout and makes it easier to learn and teach.

The Pines of the Appian Way by Ottorino Respighi/arr. Michael Story, Grade 2.5
Completed in 1924 Respighi’s masterwork consists of four contrasting movements. The final movement, “The Pines of the Appian Way,” depicts the advancement of the Roman Legion as it gradually marches towards the listener. It is one of the most glorious and stunning orchestral crescendos in all of classical music. Perfectly arranged for young band by Michael Story!
