Stanton’s is pleased to welcome back Joel Raney as our clinician for the August Sacred Choral Music reading session. Joel Raney started playing the piano sometime between learning to walk and learning to read. His love for gospel music began in a rural Baptist church in Alabama and it continues to strongly influence his music. After completing his degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Northern Alabama, he went on to earn a Masters in Piano Performance from The Juilliard School. As the guiding creative force at Hope Publishing, he has hundreds of titles in print.
Besides his composing and arranging, Joel is a sought-after music clinician, choral conductor, and piano soloist. When not on the road, Joel is Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church in Oak Park, IL. He lives in the Chicago suburb of Elmwood Park with his wife Susie.

About the Authors: Caryn G. is a graduate of Trinity Lutheran College (Washington state). She has over 24 years of experience working at Stanton’s in both the Piano and Choral departments, specializing in sacred piano music. She is a church pianist/accompanist and has enjoyed being a piano teacher and singing in many choirs over the years. When not working at Stanton’s or at church, she loves spending time with family members and friends, traveling and exploring, watching movies, reading, bike riding and most recently trying to better her culinary knowledge and be a little more artsy by painting rocks and water coloring.
Christopher B. grew up in eastern Kentucky in a musically diverse family, and began playing organ at the age of 12. He majored in vocal performance with minors in keyboards and conducting at Marshall University and later received a Master of Theological Studies in congregational ministry from Trinity Lutheran Seminary. Christopher has served as a church music director and organist for more than 20 years, presently serving as Director of Music and Worship Arts/Organist at Church of the Master United Methodist in Westerville, OH.

Calvin Custer, Grade 4 The music of Andrew Lloyd Webber continues to dominate the entertainment scene and is now available in this spectacular medley for band, choir, and strings. So grab your popcorn . . . Gitty up! Ride ’em cowboy!
The Complete Harry Potter arr. Jerry Brubaker, Grade 4 The wizard lives on! Some of the most beautiful and exciting themes from all of the Harry Potter movies are beautifully arranged into one manageable work. Over a ten-year period, four different composers contributed poignant and truly magical scores to eight award-winning films. Titles include: “Hedwig’s Theme,” “Nimbus 2000,” “Hogwarts,” “Quidditch,” “Harry’s Wondrous World,” “Fawkes the Phoenix,” “Harry in Winter,” “Dumbledore’s Farewell,” “Voldemort,” and the intense “Elder Wand” theme! Phantom of the Opera (Medley) arr. Warren Barker, Grade 4.5 Warren Barker’s magical setting is as fresh-sounding today as when it was first published in 1988. John Williams’ stellar film scores have received global acclaim for decades. Robert W. Smith has selected four cherished themes in three movements. About the Author: A former band director, Ken taught grades 5-12 band and music appreciation in both public and parochial schools in Central Ohio, and has been at Stanton’s since 2004. His iPod ranges from jazz and funk to classic and alternative rock, and symphonies. His interests include reading, history, traditional amusement parks, outdoor activities (especially hiking), and watching hockey.
