Praise the Lord of Everything by Tracey Craig McKibben & Stephanie S. Taylor, Unison/2-part with piano
Joyous and upbeat, this anthem invites all creation to “praise the Lord of everything.” Gentle syncopation in both melody and accompaniment bring life to a spirited text rich with familiar Bible passages referencing praise and singing.

I Got a Robe arr. Greg Gilpin, Unison/2-part with piano
Equally suited for both church and school settings, this popular spiritual was originally sung as a protest song denouncing slavery and hypocrisy. The song’s energetic melody underscores an uncompromising drive for equality, justice, and freedom. Repeated phrases in the melody and text make the piece an ideal choice for any unison or two-part choir.

Little David, Sing Hallelu! arr. Mary Donnelly & George L.O. Strid, 2-part with piano
A spirited original melody paired with the traditional spiritual “Little David, Play on Your Harp” is the foundation of this bright and bouncy offering by Mary Donnelly and George L.O. Strid. With its accessible partner song format, this lively piece features simple harmonies supported by a fun, rhythmic piano accompaniment and is terrific for teaching part-singing to young and developing choirs.

Room in My Heart by Mark Burrows, Unison/2-part with piano
Composer Mark Burrows has crafted a joyful seasonal anthem for young choristers that will put a smile on your face and a spring in your step! This uplifting song perfectly captures the message of Advent – making room in our heart for joy, peace, and love. A perfect selection for Christmas pageants, Advent worship, and Christmas Eve services. Developing part-singers can add the optional two-part ostinato for a fun challenge!

He Is Born! arr. Joseph M. Martin, Unison/2-part with piano and optional 4 handbells
This arrangement of the beloved French carol offers flexible presentation options to meet the skill level of any unison or two-part choir. A delightful countermelody may be sung by unison voices or combined with the traditional melody to create a lovely partner song. Optional handbells enhance the celebratory energy of the piece.

What Star Did Shine by Andrew Parr & Jeff Reeves, Unison/2-part with piano and optional flute
Set in 6/8 meter, this charming anthem recalls the story of Jesus’ birth and how shining stars played a special role for both shepherds and magi who came to worship the newborn King. An easy flute part reflects the feeling of grace and wonder throughout the piece.

The Tale of the Drowsy Shepherd by Michael & Jill Gallina
Meet Aaron, a poor and earnest shepherd who loves his job…but he has one problem: He can’t stay awake while counting his sheep! Enter I.B. Eweing, President/CEO of Wee R Sheep who tells Aaron if he doesn’t stop dozing off and the sheep running away, he’s going to be fired. However, when a miracle happens in Bethlehem one night, Aaron is inspired to follow his dreams and a happy ending is in store for all. It’s easily prepared and presented with as few as 8 children. From the veteran musical writing team of Michael and Jill Gallina, this musical is both hilarious and heartwarming. 30 minutes.

Jennifer is Director of Handbells at Worthington Presbyterian Church, and sings in the First Church Choir and rings with the First Church Ringers at First Congregational Church in Columbus Ohio. When not singing or ringing, Jennifer can be found doing conformation and other competitive sports with her three standard long haired dachshunds, Fanny, Frenchie, and Lukas.
