Children Will Listen (from Into the Woods) arr. Jacob Narverud, SATB divisi with piano and optional strings & percussion
This powerful and passionate ballad by the Witch to her daughter from Sondheim’s masterpiece “Into the Woods” is here set for the concert stage. It is a tour de force when performed with piano but when using the optional instrumentation for 2 violins, viola, cello, celesta, and percussion this will be a most memorable addition to a concert. The SATB version includes a part for optional children’s chorus or descant.
Heart of Stone (from SIX) arr. Andy Beck, SSAA with piano
Winner of the 2022 Tony Award for Best Original Score! The musical SIX is a modern retelling of the lives of Henry VIII’s wives, presented as a high-energy pop concert. In this poignant power ballad, Jane Seymour (wife number three) sings of ultimate devotion, despite her husband’s flaws. “My love is set in stone.” An R&B groove, woven choral textures, and a layered final flourish bestow the royal treatment on this remarkable rendition.
Big Time (from Better Nate Than Ever) arr. Jacob Narverud, SAB with piano and optional rhythm
This snappy and modern Disney+ movie musical gained a significant amount of attention for its breakout stars, its old-fashioned demeanor and its timely message of self-acceptance. Jacob Narverud’s faithful arrangement is geared towards developing and emerging choirs.
Back in Time (from Back to the Future) arr. Alan Billingsley, TTB with piano and optional combo
Great Scott! “Back to the Future” is back – and this time on Broadway! Take your audience on a two-minute ride to 1985 with this high-energy rock song by Huey Lewis and the News. Bring some lightning to the stage with the optional horns and rhythm in the SoundPax, or with the electrifying SoundTrax accompaniment.
Top of the World (from Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile) arr. Mark Brymer, SATB with piano and optional rhythm
There’s no greater feeling than where you’re “Top of the World”! Shawn Mendes brings the message home in this musical-theater pop treat of a song that sees the clear way out from adversity and struggle. Inspiring!
When I Grow Up/Naughty (from Matilda) arr. Mac Huff, 3-part mixed with piano
From the musical “Matilda” come two songs that poignantly express the desire for independence and equality: “When I Grow Up” and “Naughty.” These songs capture the magic and whimsy found throughout the musical known for its fun, unconventional, and off-beat style.

Jen Sper is a Choral Music Specialist here at Stanton’s Sheet Music. A native of Cincinnati, she holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baldwin Wallace College (now University) Conservatory of Music, and taught 7-12 choir, music theory, class piano, and drama in Southern Ohio before joining the Stanton’s team in 2006. An active choral singer and accompanist throughout the Central Ohio area, Jen can also often be found exploring the exciting restaurant, brewery, and theater scenes in Columbus, wandering through the local metro parks, visiting family around the Great Lakes, or at home with her very friendly cat.
Lisa Springer joined the Stanton’s choral staff in July 2023. She taught middle and high school choirs for 27 years in addition to serving as Artistic Director of the Columbus Women’s Chorus. She holds degrees from Heidelberg University and Cleveland Institute of Music. She has enjoyed an extensive professional singing career and continues to perform in the greater Columbus area. During her free time, she enjoys spending time in southern Ohio playing with her grandchildren.
