New Piano Collections: Contemporary Worship Monday, July 19, 2010

Here at Stanton’s Sheet Music, our piano department has been pouring over new publications to find the very best to suggest to you. We are excited to welcome Mary McDonald to our store for a free sacred piano clinic on Saturday, August 14th, and we hope you’ll join us here in the store for this special event! In the meantime, here is a “sneak preview” of some of the collections that will be featured:

Medleys for Blended Worship, Book 1
Traditional hymns are often performed alongside contemporary praise and worship songs in many of today's church services, giving rise to the term “blended worship.” This distinctive collection provides a valuable resource for pianists who want to play familiar hymn tunes in a tasteful and new style in addition to current praise songs recognizable to most congregations. To assist in planning, approximate performance times and optional segues are included. This collection features songs from the CCLI® Top 25!

The Hymns of Keith Getty
Irish composer Keith Getty and his talented collaborators have created some of the most memorable hymns of this generation. With their folk-like melodies and scriptural lyrics, these songs have made their way into the hearts of congregations around the world. We have chosen ten of Keith Getty's most popular hymns and asked five of our brilliant arrangers to set them for piano. This book will serve you well throughout the church year with preludes and offertories suitable for Christmas, Easter, missions, prayer, Communion, and general use.

In Christ Alone
This collection features today's best praise songs, many of which are on the Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI®) Top 25! Concert pianist Marilynn Ham has created gorgeous renditions of these well-known songs. To assist in planning, approximate performance times for each arrangement are noted and lyrics are included for reference.
