fjh-bb212cs-fTuned In: A Comprehensive Approach to Band Intonation by Brian Balmages & Robert Herrings
Good intonation is one of the most important foundations of music. This book includes a downloadable set of drones in every key for use in combination with the exercises provided. Playing with drones helps musicians better understand pitch tendencies and further develops the ear.

“Tuned In” contains comprehensive studies in every major and minor key featuring:
• Chromatic Intervals
• Interval Tuning
• Chorales that isolate the same pitch in every section
• Drone exercises in major and minor
• Descending triad exercises that explore major, minor and diminished chords

All major and minor scales with suggested drone pitches are included (or use the downloadable option), as well as over 30 chorales with block chord studies.

Several recommended tuning notes for every instrument provide a complete picture of intonation via whole instrument tuning, and whole section and whole band tuning chorales allow you to get a quick snapshot of your band’s intonation and instantly hear any sections that are out of tune!
